About Us

*OUTSTANDING BRAND NEW BOOKS EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY DAY

If you find nothing more thrilling than a daily perusal of the new-title table at your local library or favorite indy bookstore, then the bookish yet excitable staff at featurebook.com welcomes you home. We hope to gain your confidence as a source of recommendations for brilliant brand new books in an array of genres. Each morning, we’ll post several top selections from publishers big and small, including university and independent presses. We hope to feature books that might not receive the exposure they deserve, what with the vast mass retail and online acreage devoted to blockbusters. So,no blockbusters here? Well, we wouldn’t want to categorically exclude anything, and if an Oprah selection really floors us, we won’t hesitate to post it (though, we’d certainly hope to beat her to it). We think, though, that you won’t find a more discerning selection anywhere online.

We hope, too, that librarians and booksellers will begin to consult our site as part of their collection development or purchasing routine. We’ll be developing a variety of promotional and cooperative programs over the coming months with librarians and booksellers in mind, but please feel free to drop what you find here into the online purchasing program of your preferred vendor.

If you so choose, you can purchase each title by clicking through to Amazon. We’ll be adding other retail book buying options shortly, so please stay tuned. A rather informal survey of 33 self-proclaimed ravenous readers tell us that, while their hearts belong to the independent bookstore and public library, they quietly engage in “more than a little” online shopping. Please, though, if that’s not your bag, we encourage you to take copious pencil notes and deliver them to the bookseller at your favorite corner shoppe. She’ll know exactly which title you mean, and where it’s shelved.

Questions? Comments? We can’t wait to hear from you. In putting this thing together, we just have to believe there are like-minded readers out there.

Cheers!
